Sierra Mountain Soccer Club

Sierra Mountain Soccer Club (SMSC) is a competitive youth soccer organization established in 2000 in Truckee, California for the Truckee/Tahoe area.  The club consists of eleven successful boys and girls teams, including the U15 Boys Twisters, the 2008 US Youth Soccer National Championship Series Nevada State Cup Champions.  The club focuses on promoting player development by fostering a great learning environment to enhance player skills and team concepts.  SMSC’s mission is to offer a youth soccer program to the local athletes and to advance soccer for boys and girls through training, education, good sportsmanship and local competition.   A majority of our coaches have their National Coaching Licenses as well as NSCAA Coaching and Goalkeeping Diplomas.

STSC was created to serve the needs of the more committed soccer player. While not the largest club in the area, our teams are consistently among the best in the NorCal and Northern Nevada region.
We begin by teaching players the necessary fundamentals. The educational goals of our Club are:
* to teach a high level of soccer skills and tactics.
* to encourage our players to be the best that they can be.
* to foster a Club atmosphere in which the good of the whole Club is valued as well as the needs of the individual.
* to offer the opportunity for boys and girls to experience the sense of pride and accomplishment that comes from dedication and team work.
* to foster the development of physical, mental, social and emotional fitness.
* to have as much fun as is humanly possible in the process.* to create passionate, lifelong soccer players who love, understand and grow the game.  
When players reach the Club level, we ask that they commit the time and effort necessary to bring about self improvement and to contribute to the goals of their team. We make the same demands on the STFC coaching staff.
